Tea Party activist Scottie Hughes was over the moon that Sarah Palin had decided to endorse Donald Trump Tuesday. Hughes told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that what she admired in both Palin and Trump was their talent for distilling large, complex issues into hashtags that stuck in people’s heads.
Asked by Blitzer what she anticipated hearing from Palin at the Iowa Trump rally, Hughes enthused about Palin’s knack for delivering great lines. Hughes brought out her “Make America Great Again” Big Gulp to drive home the point — because, she said, “Sarah Palin made Big Gulp famous in her CPAC speech.”
Hughes continued:
She has these great catchphrases, these great catchlines, these great hashtags that trend. And that’s something that Mr. Trump is good at as well — sitting there and taking a large issue and putting it down to just a key phrase that people repeat days after the statement is made.
